A stay @mamashelterdijon which wouldn’t be my immediate choice in terms of decor but ….there was something about the harmony of colours that somehow made this dining room quite pleasing to the eye. No harsh colours an unusual blend of textures made for a rather harmonious scheme.

We came upon this elegant courtyard entrance during a rather chilly wander around the steep, narrow, winding streets of Annonay, a former hilltop manufacturing town in Ardèche, France. This once grand and thriving town is being brought back to life after years of neglect.
The beauty of its historic buildings is beginning to shine through which is wonderful.

This fun collection came from a dealer in France. Over the last 20 years, he has come to understand how to lure me in with such treasures. All of these are destined for restoration and reupholstery for clients - I may just need to keep one or two for myself, though!!!
