I’ve been moving rugs around again. The colours in this old kilim are so rich but still subtle. The right rug really brings together all the design elements of a scheme. Finding the right piece to complete a room is always a thrill!

My next favourite thing to decorating houses - antiques! A day out in L’isle sur la Sorgue, Vaucluse and a wonderland of the most beautiful antiques imaginable. Unfortunately (or fortunately perhaps) there wasn’t enough space in the car to buy much - but I may just have squeezed in a couple of little beauties!
I have a real weakness for pretty, upholstered armchairs - of which there were many - but sadly had no space for those. Next time passengers out of the car and antiques in!

A stay @mamashelterdijon which wouldn’t be my immediate choice in terms of decor but ….there was something about the harmony of colours that somehow made this dining room quite pleasing to the eye. No harsh colours an unusual blend of textures made for a rather harmonious scheme.

We came upon this elegant courtyard entrance during a rather chilly wander around the steep, narrow, winding streets of Annonay, a former hilltop manufacturing town in Ardèche, France. This once grand and thriving town is being brought back to life after years of neglect.
The beauty of its historic buildings is beginning to shine through which is wonderful.
