There is nothing like the excitement of wandering around a really remote ‘brocanté’ and finding treasures.

I have a great relationship with the chaps who own this one and I rarely come out empty handed - in fact more often than not the car is groaning and they have to deliver the rest to us!

This time I came out with some textiles (of course!) and a few paintings!

Our client’s little girl wanted a really pretty bedroom but it needed to be  something that would see her through to her early teens.

We finally chose this fun wallpaper from @mollymahonblockprinting which looks fabulous with one of her bright pink block print fabrics for the blind. A shaped, upholstered headboard in this fresh green & white print from @romo_fabrics gives balance to the colour scheme and a little chair upholstered in a cute stripe from @manuelcanovasparis will be somewhere to sit and admire the finished room!

Otto booked a glorious long weekend in Cornwall and invited us along! He has been nervous of the sea in the past but suddenly we couldn’t drag him away!

There was much hunting of seaweed and trying to bite the waves! He proved himself a truly salty sea dog!

Ottie is Otto’s special girlfriend and lives just around the corner from the shop! We supplied and fitted this gorgeous wool herringbone carpet on the stairway in Ottie’s house once we had finished wallpapering. She has tried out each and every step and thoroughly approves!

We think it looks fabulous too!

We have samples from most major fabric, wallpaper, trimming and carpet/stair runner suppliers, along with a huge library of products from smaller, more specialist brands.

Our showroom is often called an ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ or ‘Treasure Trove’ by clients and I think that’s a very accurate description! We are one of only a handful of decorators left in London with such a huge library of samples.

Thank you so much @jeannieshapiro for organising this excellent evening @sipsmith distillery in Chiswick. It’s a fabulous place and it was great to learn all about how they make their delicious gin.

The gin was a feast for the tastebuds and the distillery a feast for the eyes with its beautiful copper vats!

One of the joys of taking guests sightseeing in London is rediscovering treasures we have long forgotten.

It’s years since I last saw the Great Bed of Ware @vamuseum. What an incredible piece with its intricate carvings by German-born woodworkers who had settled in the Southwark district of London. It gives those huge American beds a run for their money!

We spent a wonderful weekend at a very special wedding in Brittany and stayed in the fabulous @chateaulebrossay in Renac, which is set in the most beautiful estate. 

The air was constantly filled either birdsong and at night we were lulled to sleep by the rhythmic purring of hundreds of frogs in the lake. Pure heaven.

A long-standing client has asked us to recover some fabulous Howard armchairs in beautiful Mughal Flower from @robertkime. Naturally, our master upholsterer is using traditional methods - not a staple in sight!
